We know what you’re wondering – well, who pays the Queen?

Taxpayers do of course!

70% of the Queen’s salary is spent on paying the staff. The rest is spent on entertaining.

Palace People deny that the Queenie is suffering any sort of financial woes, but does admit that – like for everyone else – things have been a little tight these days.

After all, the Queen hasn’t received a raise in 20 years.

But she may have to wait another 20 – two senior MPs who sit on the Public Accounts Committee are saying that the Queen can tough it out, and are calling for a public audit of the Royal Checkbook.

There must be some good stuff in there!

Aspiring writer David Beckham is selling stories aimed for seven year olds.

The books will be about a young group of footballers, those are soccer players to us in America.

It’ll feature “tips, a pull-out tactics board and statistics on the game.”

The first book in the series is set to be released in June 2009.

However, the publishers are already admitting that the books will NOT be written by Beckham.

A rep for Beckham says, “The David Beckham Academy is more than just David’s dream of giving children the chance to experience great football coaching, it exists to encourage all aspects of their learning and development. David is particularly pleased that The Academy has inspired a series of books that will bring children to reading through football.”

So, what’s next for the Beckhams?

Maybe some orange, sunless tanning cream for that nice orange-tan look????

Hugh Laurie – star of the hit show House and one of TV’s highest paid actors – was recently the victim of a home burglary.

While Laurie and his wife escaped the incident unharmed, the two were at home and asleep in bed when robbers broke into his new 4 million dollar Hollywood Hills home.

Scary!!!!!!!

They know they’re lucky to have slept through the robbery because who knows what would have happened if the actor – famous for his tough love character on House – had disturbed the crime in progress!

A spokesman for Laurie has confirmed the incident, saying: “Hugh was the victim of a burglary at his home. The matter is under investigation by police and I cannot say any more.”

Laurie is understandably unnerved, especially since police believe the burglary was perpetrated by the same low-lifes who’ve broken into the neighboring homes of country singers Faith Hill and Tim MCGraw, and movie studio boss Sherry Lansing.

Laurie lost his laptop in the burglary.

Hope there was nothing scandalous on there! On second thought, there better be lots of salaciousness on there!

Hugh may be bummed, but we’re sure he doesn’t mind too much. He just scored a $400,000-per-episode pay rise.

He can buy a few new laptops with that!

Let’s get a few things out of the way real quickly: if I said I was overly familiar with Aussie electro-funk artist Sam Sparro before last night’s episode of Dancing With the Stars, I’d be lying. Secondly, my mama didn’t raise no liar. Third thing: Yes, I realize I’m expressly uncool for watching DWTS or using abbreviations thereof. Addendum/ fourth thing:I don’t care, and I already came out of the closet with my love for Dancing With the Stars last week, so let’s move on, shall wes?

Sam Sparro’s “Black and Gold” video — off his self-titled album (yes, it’s been out in the States since June 2008 and abroad since Spring — again see previous paragraph) makes me want to rent the glassed-in penthouse of The Hotel on Rivington, climb into a hot tub overflowing with Veuve Cliquot and strands of real pearls with Sam Sparro, Gabe Saporta (Sam Sparro + Gabe = possibly separated a birth? Mmm… Gabe Saporta), Mark Ronson, and Robin Thicke… and watch Dancing With the Stars until one of us passes out from heat stroke.
